The Ancestral Mojave River
Harper Lake Harper Lake is the furthest upstream and possibly the oldest of the lakes of the Mojave River appearing about .5 million years ago. This lake may have coexisted at various times with Lake Manix to the east. Some theories described the possibility that Harper was fed by overflow from ancient Lake Thompson in the Antelope Valley to the west, but no evidence has been found to substantiate this. < Previous <> Next > |
